Britain’s Next Big Thing

The Liberty Open Call feels like a million years ago (you can see my post about it here) but I got a great reminder of all the excitement and anticipation when the first episode of Theo Paphitis’ new show was screened on BBC2 this week. The series follows designers and inventors as they pitch to major retailers with the chance of getting their product stocked. I think the buzz and atmosphere of the Liberty open day was captured brilliantly, and Theo was just great. I’m really looking forward to seeing how the stories unfold!

If you’re particularly eagle-eyed, you can just about see the top of my head in the shot on the left. You’d be forgiven for missing it – the only real giveaway is my sister, clearly visible and standing in front of me. On the right here, Richard Weston is showing his fantastic scarves to the lovely Kate and Ed. Screenshots are courtesy of BBC.

Cherish Me – On The Liberty Blog

As Mondays go, today was a good ‘un. The lovely Jo at Liberty of London contacted me a few weeks ago asking if they’d be able to interview me for the Liberty Blog, so that I could share my Open Call experience. Of course I jumped at the chance! Well, the feature ran on the Liberty Blog this afternoon – you can read it here! Hopefully i’ve made it sound less daunting than it might seem – it really was a great day. With 800 applications already in for the event this year, it looks set to be even bigger and better in 2011!
